Someone maybe saw my previous post here. I deleted it. I shouldn’t make any decisions when I’m tired. I was thinking about closing my Etsy and I was starting a new one. I actually created a new Etsy shop.

But then I start thinking what’s the point. The whole idea was that I want to renovate my sheets and remove some sheets I don’t very much like. But why should I create a new shop for that?!?! I really don’t understand myself always!

So, in the future I’m going to renovate my sheets and delete some of them in my Etsy. And some sheets I won’t relist anymore.

About my Sheets (and a bit me too)

I want to say few words about the images I use in my collage sheets. As everyone knows there are several sources in internet where you can find public domain images.

I use PD images in my sheets, but I always try to create something new with them, because there’s no sense to sell images you can get for free.

I also use very much my own material. I have a quite large photo collection, because I’ve been photographing for years. I have photos for example from Japan, Australia, USA, Hong Kong etc. And of course from Finland and England!

I have a digital SLR, so I’m able to take very good quality pictures. Photographing is my favorite hobby, so my photo collection grows almost every week.

I love abandoned houses too. I used to search them, when I lived in Finland and did find a quite lot of them. Here in England I haven’t found any yet. Maybe I just don’t know where to look for.

Tip: Some free image programs

Would it be nice to try to create art digitally, but you don’t have any program for that? Some programs are very expensive, but there are some for free too.

GIMP

My favorite is Gimp (after PhotoShop of course). It’s quite much alike PhotoShop, which I usually use. But sometimes I like to play with Gimp too, because I love to try different things.

That’s how I learnt to use PhotoShop too – just doing and trying. And I still learn something new almost every day!

PICNIK

Picnik is partly free image program. It’s easy to get start, because you don’t need to download anything to your computer. Just sign up and start playing. I think there’s not very much choices to do with it, but it is quite nice.

Which format should I choose?

JPG: if you're going to print sheet, JPG format is good for you.

PNG: If you work digitally, I think PNG is better choice for you. Because the background is transparent in PNG sheets, it is easy to copy and paste the elements off it.

There's one funny thing in this download service: The sheets in PNG format look awful, if you enlarge them! There seems to be some rubbish in the sheet, but I promise you there's no mess in the sheet. You will notice it, if you download the sheet.

The FilesAnywhere has its own image programme and it obviously doesen't support the PNG format. That's why they look messy even if they aren't.
